There are so many words I could write about Gramma Lorraine. To keep it short and sweet, here are some things I will miss:
- The fact that she bought hearing aids, but was oftentimes too proud to wear them.
- The three rules when leaving the house: Drive safe, don't speed, and call when you get there.
- The way she answered the phone. If you've ever called her, you've probably heard some variation of this: "Heeello? Ohhh hahaha".
- She poked every single one of my visible bruises. There was no mercy.
- Her french toast. Seriously, it was some of the best I've ever had.
- For a time, we swapped hiding a rubber witch finger in each others' stuff when I came to visit.
- "See this? *Makes fist* Should've watched this! *Other fist comes at me*"
- Our shopping trips to Rhinelander for no reason other than to get out of the house and enjoy each other's company.
- Her pranks. This ranged from trying to kick my knee out when I was putting my weight on that leg, to poking me in the sides when I wasn't looking.
- Her interest in my work as a programmer, even if she had no idea what I was talking about. It's kind of ironic that she was still a good listener despite not wearing her hearing aids.
- Doing crosswords together.
- Classic grandma things, like asking if I was hungry, even after I affirmed that I had eaten and wasn't hungry, or wondering when we were going to start planning for a child.

Goodbye to the most wonderful friend a person could have. I thank God everyday for putting Lorraine in my life.
Heaven is a better place today because of her presence. My tears and sadness are overshadowed by my memories of all the good times we had together.
