Obituary of Marlie Lovshin

Marlie Lovshin, age 85 , 518 Hwy 86, Tomahawk, passed away at her home as the result of a house fire on Friday, October 22, 2010. Marlie was born Aug. 24, 1925 in Tomahawk to Gustave and Elsie (Donner) Grube. She married Dr. William Lovshin on October 16, 1948 in Eveleth, Minnesota, he passed away in May of 1954. She was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority. She had been a librarian at the Tomahawk Public Library for many years, retiring around 1990. She had volunteered at the Tomahawk Food Pantry and the Tomahawk Historical Society. She enjoyed her annual Fawn Lake retreats, reading, and crossword puzzles. Marlie was also a dog lover, bird enthusiast, and an avid Wisconsin Badger fan. Survivors include: 2 Sons, Bill Lovshin Madison, WI John (Carol) Lovshin Denver, CO 3 Grandsons, Joshua Lovshin Madison, WI Alex Lovshin St. Louis, MO Jeff Lovshin Washington, DC She is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Marlie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 Sisters, Madeline Conger and Harriet Borkenhagen, and a Brother, Dean Grube. Funeral Services for Marlie Lovshin will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Tomahawk. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 10:00 a.m. Memorials in Marlie's name are appreciated to the Multiple Myeloma Society or the Humane Society.
