Obituary of Theresa Pretasky

Theresa E. Pretasky, age 85, 1981 Ruth Rd., Tripoli, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2010 at her residence under home hospice care. Theresa was born June 23, 1925 in Caledonia, Minnesota, the daughter of Nicholas and Alice (Howard) Theisen. She married James Pretasky on April 27, 1946 at St. James Catholic Church in LaCrosse. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Theresa was a loving, nurturing person, and lived every day for her family. She will be remembered for her giving and generous nature. She enjoyed gardening, canning, knitting, and crocheting. In LaCrosse, she was known for the many wreaths she made for others. Survivors include: Husband James Pretasky Tripoli Children Teresa (Mike) Mahowald Hampton, Minnesota Daniel (Teresa) Pretasky Tomahawk Timothy (Becky) Pretasky Floodwood, Minnesota William (Diane) Pretasky LaCrosse Cynthia (Dan) Heffner Arcadia Steven (Angie) Pretasky Cottage Grove Nancy Miller Lake Tomahawk Sandra Tripp LaCrosse Joseph Pretasky Hibbing, Minnesota Theodore (Ann) Pretasky Colfax Twin Sister, Patricia (Joseph) McCormick LaCrosse, WI Theresa is further survived by 30 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son - James, 2 Brothers (Frank and Joseph Theisen) and a sister (Gertrude Ann) whom she looked forward to meeting in heaven. A Mass of Christian Burial for Theresa Pretasky will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 from St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Fr. John Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Somo Cemetery in the Town of Somo.
