John P. Timmons, age 76, of Tomahawk, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Golden Living Center - Riverview in Tomahawk. John was born on November 4, 1934 in Aurora, IL to the late Tim & Louise Timmons. He married Janis Dowell on April 21, 1956 who died on September 12, 1982. John later married Judie Hatcher on August 18, 1985. Judie passed away on December 11, 2007. Survivors include: Sons Brad (Deb) Timmons Tomahawk Chris (Wanda) Timmons Sugar Grove, IL Daughter LeAne (Joe) Thorgeson Elburn, IL Grandchildren Michael Thorgeson Troy "Boone" Thorgeson Emily Timmons Skyeler Kowske Elizabeth Wells Evan Wells John is further survived by his step-children Tracey (Doug) Wells, David & Michael Hatcher. John moved to Tomahawk from North Aurora, IL in 1990. He worked for Illinois Bell for 34 years and drove for Holiday Wholesale for 10 years. He also owned and operated Timmons Cottages. John was the Assistant Chief of North Aurora Fire Department, Tomahawk and was very active in the Lincoln Co. Tavern League. His favorite hobby was playing cribbage with the boys. A Visitation for John will take place on Friday, November 12, 2010 at the Krueger Family Funeral Home in Tomahawk from 4pm to 7pm, with a private service held at a later date.
