James D. Schumann, age 77, of 14040 Tripoli Road, Tripoli, passed away Friday, January 28, 2011 at Golden Living-Golden Age Nursing Home in Tomahawk. Jim was born on January 17, 1934 in Charleston, South Carolina to Elmer and Teckla (Maki) Schumann. He married Gerri Gerrits on Feb. 14, 1970 in Pier-Willow, Wisconsin. He had served his country in the US Army from 1953 to 1961. Jim had been a painter for 40 years working at Bob's Painting and Decorating in Rhinelander. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, spending time with his sons and grandchildren. Survivors include: Wife, Gerri 2 sons, Larry (Treasa) Schumann Ladysmith Kevin Schumann Tomahawk 4 Sisters, Deon (Ron) Sarkkinen Brantwood Jackie (Ralph) Tramm King, WI Jeannine (Ken) Schneider Milwaukee Walda (Dennis) Hartmann Prentice Jim is further survived by 5 Grandchildren (Alyssa, Alec, Peyton, Trevor, and Chloe), and many nieces and nephews, including Tom (Sherry) Sarkkinen. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Clifton. A Memorial Service with Military Tribute will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from the Tripoli Log Church in Tripoli. Pastor Larry Mathein will officiate. Friends may call at the church Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00.
