Obituary of LeRoy Smith

LeRoy 'Todd' Smith, age 84, 215 W. Mohawk Drive, Apt. 112, Tomahawk, passed away under hospice care Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Golden Living Center - Golden Age in Tomahawk. Todd was born August 17, 1926 in Tomahawk, the son of Reginald and Arville (Crass) Smith. He married Barbara Renn on April 23, 1949 in Harrison. Todd worked for 37 years with Owens-Illinois in Tomahawk, retiring in 1988. Following his retirement, Todd worked part-time at Nelson's Supermarket in Tomahawk. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and being outside. Todd was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk, and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in WWII. Survivors include: Wife Barbara Smith Tomahawk Children Cathy (Ron) Stange Rothschild Robert (Debbie) Smith Spanaway, Washington Steve (Karen) Smith Wisconsin Rapids Greg (Laurie) Smith Merrill Brother Ken (Gail) Smith New London Todd is further survived by 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Mass of Christian Burial for LeRoy 'Todd' Smith will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 from St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Fr. John Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 30th from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Krueger Family Funeral Home in Tomahawk, with a Vigil Service conducted by Fr. Edward Powell to begin at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial with Military Rites will follow Mass at Calvary Cemetery in Tomahawk.
