Obituary of Lorraine Duranceau-Anderson

Lorraine R. Duranceau-Anderson, age 76, of N9916 Virgin Timber Lane, Tomahawk, passed away peacefully Friday, May 27, 2011 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk. Lorraine was born on December 14, 1934 in Brokaw, Wisconsin to Norman and Beatrice (Kolpitke) Duranceau. She married Walter Anderson on September 14, 1953 in Pine City, Minnesota. Lorraine was a former employee of Employers Insurance in Wausau. Her true calling in life was being a homemaker and wonderful wife and mother. She and Walter lived in the Town of Texas, Marathon County until 1991 when they moved to Tomahawk. She enjoyed volunteering at Marywood and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, both in Wausau, and at the United Methodist Church in Tomahawk. In her free time, Lorraine enjoyed gardening, breadmaking, singing in the church choir, camping, bowling , canning and deer hunting. Survivors include: Husband, Walter Tomahawk, WI Children, Pamela (Michael) Donley Shreveport, LA Jonas (Anita) Anderson Erlangen, Germany Penny (Scott Wegner) Anderson Schofield, WI Kathryn Hawley Wilbur, WA Amy (Mark) Schroeder Wausau, WI Brother, Roger (Judy) Duranceau Merrill, WI Lorraine is further survived by her in-laws, Donna Duranceau, Dorothy Boomer, George Anderson, Jean Newell, Val Nystrum, and John (Nancy) Anderson. 8 Grandchildren: Doug, Sarah, and Jessica Donley, Lakisha Anderson, Stephanie, & Ben Schroeder, Zachery & Derek Helvey. Three Great Grandchildren: Nico, Jamie, and Kaden. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Dale, brother-in-law, Gerald, mother- in- law Ruth, and son- in- law Mark. Funeral Services for Lorraine Duranceau-Anderson will be held on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from the United Methodist Church in Tomahawk. Pastor Allen Christensen will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Krueger Family Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 4 until 8 p.m. and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until 11 at the church. The family would like to thank Dr. Cortte and the staff of Ministry Home Care Hospice for their care and compassion.
