Obituary of Kari L Krueger

Kari L. Krueger, age 67, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Marshfield Medical Center - Marshfield with her family by her side. Kari was born on January 9, 1956 in Milwaukee. She was the first child to Earl & Marion (Alberg) Holm. On November 1, 1980 she married John Krueger in Tomahawk. Kari attended nursing school and devoted her life to taking care of people. Over the years, Kari worked as a nurse in various roles, including AODA, emergency care, memory & dementia care, geriatric care, school nurse and most recently, she was a nursing instructor for Nicolet College. She loved her nursing students like her own kids. Kari was a lifelong learner and achieved her masters of nursing degree. Kari loved taking family trips. She enjoyed her time spent at her cabin, gardening. Most of all, Kari loved time spent with her family. She was the best Nana to her grandkids, and always up for an arts and crafts project with them. Kari will forever be remembered by her family, her students who carry her “worry stones” and everyone who she painted a rock for. Kari is survived by her husband - John Krueger of Tomahawk; three daughters - Katie (John) Hirt, Karen (Chad) Gauerke and Karolyn (Steve) Schrammel; brother - Chuck Holm; sisters - Amy (Michael) Kilgore, Karen (Todd) Toppen & Sarah (Terry) Barttelt. She is further survived by her 9 grandchildren - Charlee, Jacee, Harrison, Corrina, Mack, Elyse, Joey, Natalie & Emilia. Preceded in death by her two babies who died in infancy – Kortney & Timothy, her parents - Marion & Earl Holm, and her birth mother - Faye Jensen. The Funeral Service for Kari Krueger will take place at 11:00AM on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. Pastor Julie Sinkula will officiate. Visitation will take place on Friday, August 25 at the Krueger Family Funeral Home from 4:00PM until 7:00PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 10:00AM until the time of service at 11:00AM. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. A Memorial Scholarship in Kari’s name will be set up to benefit CNAs and nursing students.
