Obituary of Arne Andersen

On May 13th, 1946, Arne Harry Andersen Jr. was born to the late Arne Harry Andersen Sr. and Klaryne Andersen. Arne departed life on Saturday, July 1st at his home in Tomahawk WI. He is survived by his sister Rita Penkwitz, Sons; Scott, Troy, and Nick Andersen, grandsons; Ryan, Zackery, Lucas, and Matthew Andersen, and daughter-in-law Darci Jeffrey-Andersen. Preceded in death by his parents Arne Harry Andersen Sr. Klaryne Andersen and his sister Joan Schmidt. Arne was born and raised in Westmont, Illinois. In 1966 he joined the US Armed Forces and served in the US Army. After completion of his active duties, Arne moved to Merrill Wisconsin, where he met and married Linda Bowen in 1969. They moved to Tomahawk Wisconsin, Arne became the owner and manager of the Clark Gas Station for 30+ years. During this time he enjoyed playing softball, bowling, shooting pool, golfing, going to Brewer games and watching Scott and Troy play hockey. In 1992 Arne married Debra Straveler. He taught their son Nick the skills of playing pool. Nick and Scott have many memories of time spent together with Arne in pool leagues and tournaments over the years. In 1996 A&J Sports Bar was established, Arne hosted numerous events cheering on the Bears, and Brewers, and supporting Packer Fans. He also enjoyed spending time with the regulars, friends, and out-of-town travelers as they stopped by to enjoy a beverage or two. Jackie Ryan was a dear friend to Arne over the years, supporting him at the bar and raising her son Jeremey Pufahl together. For those that knew Arne, please join us during visitation which will be held on Monday, July 10th at Krueger Funeral Home from the hours of 9:00AM – 11:00AM. The memorial service for Arne will follow at 11:00AM. Memorials are asked to be directed to the family of Arne Andersen.
