Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
William Paul Streicher, Jr. (Bill or "Uncle Boogie") was born on Jan. 26th, 1933 in Kewanee, IL and died on June 26th, 2023 in Tomahawk, WI. After growing up in Kewanee IL and Gila Bend Arizona, Bill joined the Air Force. While in the service he traveled to many interesting places and played guitar in a band. He especially enjoyed his time in Guam where he belonged to a group called the Deep Sea Searchers. In Japan he was tasked with maintaining and repairing military planes, when he wasn’t Boogieing down with his buddies or charming the ladies Over the years he enjoyed music, scuba diving, traveling, playing poker, fishing, and spending time with his parents, brothers, friends and family while living in the Tomahawk and Rhinelander areas along with several winters at a few different places in Florida. He liked camping with family at Lake Superior, playing pool and ping pong with his nieces and nephews and telling them a few outlandish stories about his world travels. He and his friend Anne settled in the Rhinelander area where he worked for several years for the Town of Pine Lake. After his retirement from the town he moved to the Nokomis area where he enjoyed camping by the Willow flowage in the summer and winters at the Lake Nokomis home. He very much loved spending time having a few "Old Mils" with many friends at several watering holes around the area. His last few years he spent at his family’s home on Nokomis- reading, watching TV, and working crosswords. He very much enjoyed looking out at the lake watching birds and other wildlife. Bill is survived by his nieces and nephews – Dave, Tom, Dawn, Rhonda, Kurt, and Sarah along with several grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Edith, His brothers Melvin, Don, Dave, and Darrell, grandnephew Jason and his friend Anne Alsteen.
