Obituary of Roberta L Meyer

Roberta L. Meyer, 86, a lifelong Tomahawk area resident, passed away Monday, June 12, 2023 at Friendly Village in Rhinelander. “Berta” was born on October 21, 1936 in Tomahawk to Edward and Muriel (L’Abbe) Hildebrand. She was married to Wilbert “Spike” Meyer on September 25, 1965 in Tomahawk. Spike passed away in 2007. Berta had worked at Seroogy and Theiler Law offices for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed trips to the Casino, playing bingo, card clubs, bowling, and making greeting cards. She liked watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Brewers, Packers, and Minnesota Wild games. She spent countless hours watching her children and grandchildren playing sports and loved family gatherings. Berta is survived by five children; Charles (Sally) Meyer, Merrill; Audrey Tessmer, Pulaski; Joanne (Matt) Huebner, Green Bay; John (Brenda) Meyer, Wausau; and Terry Meyer of Tomahawk. She is also survived by a brother, Thomas Hildebrand, 11 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren with three more coming soon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Spike, a daughter, Michelle, a brother, David and sister, Judy Leggett. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Krueger Family Funeral Home Thursday from 4 until 7:00 p.m. and again on Friday from 10 am until the time of mass at 11:00 a.m. Memorials are appreciated to St. Mary Catholic School.
