Obituary of Hugo J Suominen

Hugo Suominen, 97, a former resident of Tomahawk, passed away in Chicago, Illinois.
Hugo was born 3/18/1925 in Trout Creek, Michigan to John and Lempi Suominen. He was married to Joan Urba June 18, 1950. She passed away in 2012. Hugo served his country during World War II in the US Army and rose to the rank of Master Staff Sargent and was a lifetime member of the Elmhurst American Legion Post. He had been a mason and general contractor in the Chicago area for many years. Hugo and Joan retired to Tomahawk in 1995 and lived here until Hugo moved back to Chicago about four years ago. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Surviving Hugo are three children, Dennis (Ruth) Suominen, LaGrange Park, IL; Robert (Kris) Suominen, Dothan, Alabama; and Carol Cooper, Portland, Oregon. He is further survived by eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A Graveside service with Military honors for Hugo Suominen will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery. Krueger Family Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family. You may view the obituary and share online condolences at kruegerfamilyfuneral.com
