To my family, Louise quite simply exuded kindness and a faithful spirituality that was without pretense.
Her faith was ever-present without ever having to speak a word; it just shown through!
She was as a lovely a woman as I have known and we are grateful and blessed for having her as our friend..

I will always remember how hospitable Louise was. It didn’t matter what was going on on the farm; when the Schmitt family stopped by while at the Harrison cabin or the Road Lake cabin, she always welcomed us in and sat down to visit and share a drink or a treat. I know my mom and dad always loved their visits with Leo & Louise. Now they can visit with Louise into eternity!
And even though Mom never got into quilting like Louise did, she loved the quilt shows and shopping trips with Louise and Pat; then years later my daughter Nicole picked up her supplies and made a Road Lake quilted wall hanging that Mom cherished til the day she died—a beautiful family heirloom which would have never come to be if it weren’t for Louise & her quilting!

Louise was a very special person. Her door was always open. She never hesitated to have you sit down and share a meal. We always talked about food, what was healthy and of course quilting. She alway wanted to see what I was working on. She will be greatly missed.

Some of my fondest memories when I was a child was going up to the farm to visit Aunt Louise and Uncle Leo. She always had a kind heart and gentle soul that was welcoming to all. My deepest sympathies to Uncle Leo and the family, as I know she will be missed.

Mom's passing has left a void in all our lives, and some moments in our day, it is hard to fight back the tears. Our strength comes not only from God above, but her legacy of love and devotion, to the many people, that she has met along her journey in her life. Knowing this, it truly comforts our souls, and to have the support and condolences from family, friends, and neighbors, the void we are experiencing doesn't seem so empty. Forever and always we will love you mom.

I went sometime without seeing my own family during my time in Tomahawk. Louise's hospitality, insight, generosity, and sweet nature especially around the holidays will always be appreciated. Such an incredible person, I consider myself blessed to have known her.
