Obituary of Julie L Thayer

Julie L. Thayer, 78, of Pine Ridge Lane, Tomahawk, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Marshfield Medical Center in Weston. Julie was born June 29, 1943 in Tomahawk to John and Julia (Shimkus) L’Abbe. She was married to Jack Thayer on May 22, 1980 also in Tomahawk, he passed away in 2012. Julie lived her entire life in Tomahawk, she had been employed at L’Abbe Insurance Agency, Nelsons County Market, and lastly at Great Lakes Foods in Tomahawk. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling and most recently her passion was being a grandmother and great grandmother. Surviving Julie is her son, Brian Walker of Wausau; Step daughters, Susan (Ron) McManus of California; Kelly (Steve) Thayer-Hasketh of Florida; Kerry Thayer of Minocqua; and Jacquelyn Thayer also of Florida. Two siblings, Kerry Gaedtke and Jack L’Abbe both of Mosinee. Three grandchildren, John, Samantha, and Brienna Walker and 2 great grandchildren, Jace and Jax Brockman. Julie was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Gina Gruhlke, and a sister Karen L’Abbe. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Mary Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11. The Krueger Family Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
