Obituary of Ralph Beals

Ralph “Bud” Beals, age 91, of Krystal Kove Road, passed away after a lifelong battle with Crohn’s and kidney disease surrounded by his family on December 22, 2020 at home under Ministry Homecare Hospice. Bud was born on October 22, 1929 in Newton, Iowa to Ralph & Katherine (Davis) Beals. He attended Newton High School and graduated in 1949. Right out of high school, Bud started work for Maytag Company for 12 years. He married Margaret Pietales on August 9, 1952 in Newton, IA. Bud was later employed by HON Industries. He retired after 33 years in 1994 as Vice President of Special Products. Bud raced cars, loved golf and snowmobiling. Bud is survived by his sons – Michael (Patricia) Beals of Tomahawk, Randall (Lori) Beals of Des Plaines, IL and Doug (Jackie Firkus) Beals of Tomahawk; and two grandsons – Matthew and Timothy. He is further survived by his brother – Bradley Beals and sister – Jane Beals. Bud is preceded in death by his parents and his wife – Marge. There will be a Celebration of Life for Ralph Beals held at a later date. Memorials are appreciated to Nokomis Food Pantry, TAIV or the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation.
