We just saw this yesterday so why we are so late in responding.
Marge was a great support, model, encourager, and inspiration for me when serving as pastor at Grace. Her faith was incredibly deep, honest, rich and sincere. It overflowed in genuine love for others and in great perception about and concern for people. As her family you likely did not always appreciate her direct challenging reminders to you. But ohhh - how you knew she was usually right, coming at you out of love, and always seeking for each of you to grow in your faith, love, and engagement in the joy of life.
My favorite memory is how Mya would tell me in worship, "Grandma wants Communion." The look on Mya's face was priceless - so sincere & concerned, a mirror of her great grandmother's attitude. And for Mya to have that shows how deeply her great grandmother's love and faith had been passed on into her.
This is a great loss as Marge made everyone around her better. We all saw this coming and mourned her continuing decreasing health. But reality is always tough. May God's Holy Spirit comfort you and lead you to celebrate that Marge is now home, she lived fully and well through many challenges and loss, and many are truly more alive and loving because of Marge.
As Marge deeply touched Claudia & I, so our prayer and desire for all of you is that your light shines just as brightly. May all of you live, love and trust so deeply and well as Marge - so that when your end comes you too are surrounded by your family entrusting you into God's eternal love and life.
