Obituary of Matt Schoone

Mathew R. Schoone, 62, of Rhinelander and former Harrison resident, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, October 28, 2019.

Matt was born July 18, 1957 in Tomahawk to Mathew A. and Phyllis (Oldenburg) Schoone. He grew up in Harrison and graduated from Tomahawk High School. He formerly was employed at Marplex in Rhinelander. Matt enjoyed going for coffee with his friends, especially Greg. He also loved spending time with his mom back in Harrison, especially at Thanksgiving.

Matt is survived by his mom, Phyllis Schoone and 5 siblings, Dan (Jolynn) Schoone, Rodney Schoone, and Rena (Art) Buchanan, all of Tomahawk; Pamela (Bruce) Kalk of Wausau; and Roxanne (Craig) Brooks of South Dakota. Matt is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Matt Schoone will be held on Thursday, October 31^st from St. Augustine Catholic Church in Harrison. Fr. Louis Marram Reddy will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery. The Schoone family will receive friends at the church Thursday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of mass at 11:00 AM. Krueger Family Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
