Obituary of Viola M Salmi

Viola Salmi, age 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 3, 2019 under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.

Viola was born on December 18, 1925 in Chicago, IL to Werner & Esther (Ross) Sodervick. During her life, she split her time between both Brantwood and Chicago. She was married to Otto Salmi on March 31, 1951 in Chicago.  She loved trips to the casino and helping Otto in his garden. Otto and Viola loved taking camping trips and fishing.

Viola is survived by her two sons – Michael (Lynn) Salmi of Illinois & Leon (Christine) Salmi of Indiana; her half-brothers – Bruce Sodervick, Ronald Laine & James Laine; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband – Otto & two half-brothers – Dale Sodervick & David Sodervick.

The Memorial Service for Viola Salmi will take place at 11:00AM on Friday, May 31, 2019 at Krueger Family Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 10:00AM until the time of service at 11:00AM. Viola will be buried in Somo Cemetery in Tripoli privately.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Milestone Assisted Living for all of their care and compassion they have showed Viola over the time she spent there.
