* Thank you Uncle Dick for letting us play at the greenhouse and sometimes help to water the flowers.
* Thank you Uncle Dick for taking us with you when delivering flowers (though I think you were using us as a prop when delivering to pretty girls).
* Thank you Uncle Dick and Aunt Sue for taking me and Scott camping to the Chequamegon forest.
* Thank you Uncle Dick for letting us jump off the hay bales in the barn (oh, maybe you didn't know we were doing that:)
* Thank you Uncle Dick and Aunt Sue for allowing us to sleep over.
* Thank you Uncle Dick for having us over to sled on your hill and for the awesome hot dogs and hot chocolate.
* Thank you Uncle Dick for giving me my sense of humor; you often cracked me up, and then when you were serious I was fascinated by how intelligent you talked.
* Thank you Uncle Dick for the 2nd hand smoke:) Between you, Grandpa, and Uncle Rich with his cigars, whew!
* No thank you Uncle Dick for telling the spaghetti story every time we visited :)
* Thank you Uncle Dick for taking us on walks through the farm; though I think you were using us as bait for all the wood ticks.
* Thank you Uncle Dick for being a fun uncle.

I still can’t believe Dick is gone. He was so blessed with so many caring and loving people who looked after him from the beginning of his cancer journey until the very end. He told me over and over how grateful he was for so many friends, relatives and neighbors who visited him, brought him food, called, and took him to his doctor appointments. He loved them all. His friend Ray was more than a friend, but a brother to him. He will be greatly missed. He loved the life he was living but was ready to be reunited with his heavenly family.

One of the things I loved about Dick is that you could discuss just about anything with him and even if you disagreed you could still be friends. He also loved, loved, loooved my creamed cabbage. Got ya Dick! If your waiting at the pearly gates to sing me the Kellog song I'm coming with creamed cabbage. A true scholar and a gentleman. We always enjoyed our time with him and will miss this best of friends. I wish all the family my sincere sympathy and joy in remembering times past.
Blessings,
Linda Welbes

A great friend equals great memories: Your favorite birthday dinner (every year) of my special grilled burgers, creamy cucumbers and made-from-scratch poppy seed cake; road trips with Ray; and sitting around the campfire at the cottage for hours. Those memories will bring a smile and maybe we'll even laugh out loud. You're loved and will be dearly missed.

A Good Friend is the Best gift ever!
I have been enjoying my gift for years. It has been my privilege and honor to be Dick’s friend. We shared so many laughs, and stories, and conversations over the years. You will be missed....

Thank you for allowing us to become a part of your family. From picking rocks in your fields, to grabbing a burger or ice cream at the Windmill to just sitting in your garage talking, there are so many great memories. We will miss you but know you are already walking the woods, trimming the trees and taking a smoke break.

Out of all the men in this world that my parents could have picked to be my God Father I am so blessed and thankful they picked you! You were such a kind wonderful soul always willing to help anyone. Your blood, sweat, tears and the long lengthy stretched out stories of needing a fighter jet for a finger injury are for every lasting memories of the house that you helped make a home. We took a 5,600 mile trip together and the memories will last me a life time! I will miss you every day I wish we could have had more time but I am blessed for the time we had. I will miss your wonderful Laugh and joyful eyes. We all miss you and will I always love you!
Love Katie "Your God Daughter" XOXOXO
I will finish the Sourdough hike for you! Please make sure the bear doesn't eat me! Thanks ahead of time!
Rest in Peace or I will knock your head to a peak and knock the peak off!

We wrote your name in the sky, but the wind blew it away.
We wrote your name in the sand, but waves washed it away.
We wrote your name in our hearts, and forever it will stay.
