I wish everyone could have an aunt like Jeanne Rae. She was always smiling and quick with a joke she was a joy to be around. Every time we came up from Michigan she would be sure to have her famous chili mac just for me. She would get up at 6am and go to the bakery to make sure to get some crispie pastries before they ran out, just for me. Those were just a few examples of things she would do to make you feel special. What a beautiful person. We will miss you very much. Jim and Dianne Paulson2Gyp3

Tomahawk will never be the same without Jeanne Rae. To me, she IS Tomahawk. From keeping the youngsters safe on the school bus to her unwavering support of Hatchet athletics to her active commitment to God at Grace Lutheran. I'm proud to say I am a friend (and she has many). She loved her family, friends and life. JoAnne and I send our sincerest condolences to Don, Nancy and the rest of the family.

Jeanne Rae was always one of the first to acknowledge and compliment a young person and their family for athletic honors even decades after her own kids were grown. She kept track and was involved. She will be missed dearly by so many. A life well lived.

As children in Grace Lutheran we were taught about the soul.
It was easier to grasp the lesson promising us our souls would be saved than the lesson defining the soul itself.
The soul, this invisible essence within our heart, conscience, prescience, emotion and being, we were promised would be made immortal through God’s grace.
How fortunate I feel to have had the example set by Jeanne Rae, a guiding star of warmth, friendship, and positive spirit. Her generosity to her community, faith, and the people in her atmosphere was selfless and uplifting.
Her mortal soul offered lessons for all of us. There could be no greater tribute to her life —a life well lived — than for each us to carry the mantle a little further in our own way.
As long as we remember to carry Jeanne Rae’s soul in our hearts, we can each be lifted by her spirit.

I'm so sorry to hear. Jeanne Rae was such a beautiful person inside and out and was a great friend to our family. She always was so kind and loving to our family and she attended many of our graduations and weddings! I remember when I would go on the bus as a kid and it was my birthday, Jeanne Rae would put on her red lipstick and give me a kiss on my cheek. She was always so fun and happy. She will be missed by my family for sure. God be with Don and family at this time.
