Obituary of Mary Lou Dowdle

Mary Lou “Missey” Dowdle, age 87, of N10600 Norway Pine Trail, Tomahawk, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018 at her home under hospice care.

Missey was born in Wausau on December 31, 1930 to Henry and Viola Peters. She grew up in Tomahawk and moved to the Chicago area later in life. She was married to Richard Sabielny on August 29, 1954 until he passed away in 1984. Together with Richard, she had 4 children. In 1991, Missey married Gerald Dowdle. They moved back to Tomahawk in 2009. While working, Missey was a nursing assistant. She loved traveling and baking. She enjoyed reading, and she used to make and paint ceramics. Missey was a woman of strong faith.

Missey is survived by her 4 sons - Thomas (Vickie) Sabielny McHenry, IL, James Sabielny Tomahawk, Daniel (Sandy) Sabielny McHenry, IL & David "DJ" (Linda) Sabielny Tomahawk.

Missey is further survived by 6 Granddaughters - Candice, Pamela, Tiffany, Jessica, Linsey and Jenelle; 2 Grandsons - Jacob and Eric; 12 Great Grandchildren; and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband – Richard Sabielny, her second husband – Gerald Dowdle, one brother and one sister.

Private family Funeral Services for Missey Dowdle were held on Monday, December 24, 2018 at Krueger Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
