Obituary of Alma A Whitaker-Ahles

Alma Whitaker Ahles, 91, of Southgate Drive, Tomahawk, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Milestone Senior Living in Tomahawk under the care of Asera Care Hospice.

Alma was born July 28, 1926 in Rhinelander to Theodore and Nola (Bailey) Spengler. She was married to David “Pops” Ahles on October 13, 1974, he passed away just over a month ago on October 11, 2017.  Alma was first and foremost a homemaker and a mother, she also had worked at the Tomahawk Boat Factory, Nelson’s Bakery, Deer Trail Lodge, Ray’s Fine Foods, and Jim’s Logging Camp. She enjoyed snowmobiling, crossword puzzles, and attending TOPS classes. She especially enjoyed her family.

Alma is further survived by 17 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Ahles, a son, David Whitaker, and a sister, June Gaedtke.

Funeral Service for Alma Whitaker Ahles will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. from Redeemer Ev. Lutheran Church. Rev. Mark Gass will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of services at noon.
