Obituary of David R. Schoone

David R. Schoone, age 71, of Harrison, passed away at his home on August 18, 2017.

Dave was born on April 18, 1946 to Peter and Stella (Janikowski) Schoone in Tomahawk. He married Christina Barr on October 5, 1968 in Tomahawk. Dave served for three years with the US Army during the Vietnam Era. He worked utility, semi operator and oiler for the O-I, PCA and Tomahawk Mill, for 40 years. He retired in April of 2008. Dave was a lifelong Harrison resident. He loved hunting, fishing and gardening. Dave loved spending time outdoors but his most cherished time was with his family. He will be forever remembered as an awesome husband, dad, grandfather and friend.

Dave is survived by his wife Tina, of Harrison; daughter, Margaret “Margie” (Mark) McKenzie, of White Lake, WI; 2 sons, Robert Schoone, of Tomahawk & Brian Schoone, of Wausau; 4 sisters, Mary Croker, Connie Sandberg, Teresa Burnett & Carol (Bob) Rucinski; and 1 brother, Dennis (Gail) Schoone. He is further survived by one granddaughter, April (Tyler) Musolff; 1 step grandson, Ryan (Jessica) McKenzie; 1 great granddaughter, Kinsey & step great grandson, Jack.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00AM on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Harrison. Visitation will take place at Krueger Family Funeral Home on Monday, August 21, from 4:00PM until the time of vigil service at 7:00PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 10:00AM until the time of Mass at 11:00AM. Burial will take place in St. Augustine Cemetery, Harrison.
