John "Jack" Walsh, age 87, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2017 in Chattanooga, Tennesee.

Jack was born September 12, 1929 in Chicago to the late Nora and John Walsh. He graduated from St. Rita High School in 1947 and attended St. Joseph University. He was a member of the U.S. Army and a retired Chicago Police officer. He moved to Tomahawk following his retirement 30 years ago. He enjoyed reading, fishing, golfing, trqaveling, and watching football.

Survivors include his three beloved children, John T. Walsh, Dawn (Jeff) Washburn, and Dan (Tracy) Walsh.  His adored granddaughters, Ashlee(Mat) Mikell, Aimee Walsh, and grandson, Daniel Walsh, Jr.  Brother to six, uncle to many and friend to a multitude of people he met along his journey. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Dolores (Mayher) Walsh.

Jack was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk and attended St. Stephen's Church during his extended stays in Chattanooga.

In accordance with Jack's wishes his body was donated to the Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennesee.

A Memorial Mass with military rites for Jack Walsh will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. from St. Mary Catholic Church. Fr. Louis will officiate.
