Obituary of Shirley L Bentley

Shirley L. Bentley, of Tomahawk, passed away on Monday, October 29, 2018 at Riverview Health Services under the care of Aseracare Home Hospice.

 

Shirley was born on August 20, 1928 in Sheboygan to Orville and Verna (Wallace) Lindemann. She was married to Charles Bentley. Together, they had four children –  twin girls, Robin & Duina, Anthony & Melissa. Shirley joined the Ringling Brothers Circus when she was 16. There, she was the star of many shows, including riding bear back on horses, trapeze and elephant acts. She was a very strong willed lady and was an incredible mother. She was gorgeous inside and out.

 

Shirley is survived by her daughter – Melissa Bentley, of Buda, TX; her 7 grandchildren – Keshia Bentley, Anthony Bentley, Kathleen Lopez, Stephanie Lopez, Justin Lopez, Rosario Lopez and Maria Lopez. She is further survived by her sister – Sonia Lindemann and two great grandchildren – Olivia & Carlos.

 

Shirley’s family plans to celebrate her life privately.
