Obituary of Richard Rokosz

Richard “Rich” Rokosz, age 87, of Hazelhurst, passed away at his home on Sunday, October 7, 2018 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care.

Rich was born on April 17, 1931 in Chicago, IL to Anthony & Virginia Rokosz. Rich is a Korean War veteran, having served with the US Marine Corp. While in the Chicago area, Rich worked as a glaizer. He moved to Hazelhurst in 1990. He was married to Joanne Zastrow on July 27, 1992 in Minocqua. He owned and operated the Rustic Inn for many years. Rich loved to travel. His greatest joy was his airplane that he would pilot himself. He also loved being outdoors - snowmobiling, snow skiing, waterskiing, scuba diving and woodworking.

Rich is survived by his wife – Joanne, of Hazelhurst; Children, Matthew, Renee, and Norman. Step son – Mason (Amy) Wauda, Lynden, WA. He is further survived by 4 grandchildren – Danielle, Stefany, Cory & Anthony, 3 great grandchildren - Cora, Anastasia & Charlotte and 2 step grandchildren – Madison & Makena.

The memorial service for Rich Rokosz will take place at 3:00PM on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at the Krueger Family Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 1:00PM until the time of service at 3:00PM.
